Deleting Resource Tags

You can delete one or more resource tags from the Resource Tags page. When a tag is deleted, it is removed from the Resource Tags list and untagged from all resources, such as dashboards, that carried it. This action cannot be undone.

Note: You must be the tag owner, have Write permission on the tag, or be an organization administrator to delete a tag. You cannot delete tags for which you only have Read access.

Deleting a Single Tag

To delete a single resource tag:

  1. Click Search > Manage > Resource Tags.

  2. Select the tag you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete. A confirmation dialog displays:

    • The tag name.

    • The number of resources, such as dashboards, that will be untagged. This count reflects dashboards visible to you. Organization administrators see a global count across all users.

  4. Click Delete to confirm. The tag is removed from the list and from all associated dashboards.

Deleting Multiple Tags

You can delete multiple tags in a single operation. The Delete action is enabled for bulk selection only if you have permission to delete all selected tags.

If any selected tag is read-only for your account, the delete action remains disabled.

To delete multiple resource tags:

  1. Click Search > Manage > Resource Tags.

  2. Select the tags you want to delete. You can select tags across multiple pages.

  3. Click Delete. A confirmation dialog shows the aggregate impact across all selected tags:

    • The names of all tags to be deleted.

    • The total number of resources that will be untagged. This count reflects resources visible to you. Organization administrators see a global count.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.

All selected tags are removed from the list and untagged from their associated dashboards.
